1. Pallene and Cocoua—we bet that in the past few months no interview has gone by without mentioning these two jewels, which we’d like to congratulate you for. What have they involved for you, other than a big boost to your career?

Well, it’s true, they have asked me about both tracks in all of them, but that’s normal. For me, like you say, they’ve been a great boost to my career. But they’re especially important because I didn’t have to change the style or make it more commercial or anything like that. It’s my own sound and that has made everything a whole lot more natural. And at the same time, they’re the songs that gave me the possibility of working with the Cadenza team, which I adore, and Diynamic as well. Right now both Alex Montoya (Cadenza) and Adriano Trolio (Diynamic) are two essential elements in my daily life.

2. The muse that inspires you in the Pallene promotional video is a faithful reflection of your career as a pianist, a classical training from which you take organic, natural sounds that you fuse with techno and electronic sounds. What did you think when Luciano communicated his interest in releasing your last work under the Cadenza label?

I was in shock for a bit. I saw the e-mail in my inbox and waited a couple of minutes before opening it because I got all nervous (laughs). It was incredible to find out that he liked my work and was welcoming me into his home. That gave me a lot more strength to keep working to carve out my career each day. I have learned a lot from all the professionals around me and I am very grateful.

3. The summer of 2011 must have been very enriching. What can you tell us about your experiences with great artists like Luciano and Carl Cox?

It’s very, very enriching as an artist and especially as a person. Being with them means learning something new every second. Above all, you learn from their humility, and they make you feel very special at every moment, which increases your desire to work every day; it’s like a shot of adrenaline for your creativity and inspiration. I could say that getting to know them has been a great inspiration to me.

4. Only three months ago you received the prize for Best Producer of the Year 2011 at the Vicious Music Awards. In April you received two awards: DJ Mag The Best of Spain for Best Producer and Best Single for Bassboot. How do you feel knowing that the longed-for recognition of the Spanish underground scene has finally arrived?

It was about time that the scene got to having the influence it deserves, wasn’t it? I’m very happy to see that the “underground” scene in this country—which is really serious and has a lot of work behind it—is starting to emerge and people are beginning to see this reality and believe in it. Not just in marketing campaigns and really super-brilliant photos. No, people are starting to see their work and efforts rewarded, and the public and the new generations are beginning to move away from all the empty stuff that’s been being sold for years.

5. In your last interview with Vicious Magazine, you talked about the energy you were investing in your label Paulatine Records. At that time you couldn’t give out much information. Can you now? 

It’s a project that we’re easing into. There are three of us involved in it (Piek, Baum and myself) and we’re taking it step by step. Like with my career, or theirs, the most important thing is offering quality rather than quantity and having a strong, consolidated base. We don’t have any specific expectations, just work, work, and more work. Next plans?  Well, we might see Baum with remixes of Jaffa Surfa and Piek, Oren Bi and myself. I’m preparing a special release from a remix contest we held a few months ago.

6. Since you signed on with Diynamic until now you haven’t stopped travelling and performing at the best venues and festivals. 2012 will also be a year of many projects. Can you give us any information in advance?

It’s going to be a spectacular year! I’ll be in Ibiza at several important festivals, parties and events, like the Vagabundos festivities at Pacha, at Ushuaia, at the opening of Space giving an exclusive live performance, at the Diynamic Neon parties, with their first incursion into the island at Sankeys, and a number of boat parties on specific days. It’s going to be an incredible summer! Apart from all that, Sonar, Monegros and a couple more festivals that we can’t announce yet. I’ll also be at Florida 135, at Watergate (Berlin), Paris, the USA. It’s going to be a very hectic summer.

7. For us it’s been a pleasure to have your collaboration on NRS002 “Low Cutz EP” with the remix of XXX, which, by the way, has received a lot of support from both colleagues and industry media. Congratulations once again. What can you tell us about your contribution to RAW SERIES?

As always, I’ve tried to make my music, my sound, without thinking about the tops. I never pay attention to fads; I just do what I feel like doing at each moment. In this case, I was drawn towards something with more groove, sexier but at the same time serious and deep, and that’s how the remixes came out. The truth is I was very satisfied with the work, and after seeing the support received, even more so. 

8. If you had to give advice to fellow colleagues, in this profession you need:
